Customer feedback survey tools fall into two groups
Customer feedback survey tools are either general form builders that can run a satisfaction survey, or dedicated feedback platforms that send surveys automatically and report scores over time. For a small organization sending one survey after a job, order or visit, a form builder is usually enough and costs far less.
The form builders in this guide are Yay! Forms, Tally, Fillout, Jotform and Typeform. The dedicated customer satisfaction survey tools are Survicate and Simplesat. All prices below were read on each vendor's own pricing page on 3 October 2026 and can change.
Seven customer feedback survey tools with entry prices
| Tool | Type | Entry price | Responses at that price | Best at | One limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yay! Forms | Form builder | Starter: $19 per month billed monthly, $9 billed yearly | 200 a month | Sentiment, emotion and keyword analysis of comments on every plan | No free plan, only a 7-day trial |
| Tally | Form builder | Free | Unlimited under a fair use policy | Running a simple survey at no cost | Branding removal and team workspaces need the paid Pro plan |
| Fillout | Form builder | Free, then Starter at $15 per month billed annually | 1,000 a month free, 2,000 on Starter | A stated free allowance with unlimited seats | Custom endings and logos are paid |
| Jotform | Form builder | Free Starter plan, then Bronze at $39 per month billed monthly | 100 a month free, 1,000 on Bronze | Surveys that sit beside payment and signature forms | The number of forms is capped on each plan |
| Typeform | Form builder | Basic: $39 per month billed monthly, $28 billed yearly on the plan cards; a table lower on the same page shows $29 and $25 | 100 a month | Polished one-question-at-a-time surveys | The lowest response allowance among the paid plans here |
| Survicate | Feedback platform | Growth: starts at $114 per month billed annually | 250 a month at the starting price | Surveys across several channels with built-in email sending | No free plan, only a 10-day trial limited to 25 responses |
| Simplesat | Feedback platform | Starter: $149 per month billed monthly, $119 billed annually | 300 a month | CSAT, NPS, CES and 5-star surveys tied to a helpdesk | Priced for support teams, not for an occasional survey |
What customer feedback survey software has to do
Before comparing prices, check each tool against the job. A feedback survey for a small organization needs five things:
- A rating question and an open comment question, so you get a number and a reason. See when to use a rating and when to use a comment.
- Branching, so an unhappy customer can be asked a different follow-up from a happy one.
- A way to reach the customer: a link, a QR code, an embed or an email.
- An alert when a poor score arrives, so someone can reply quickly.
- A clean export, so the answers are still yours if you change tools.
The form builders in the table are designed to cover the first three. Alerts and exports differ by plan. On Yay! Forms, CSV export and webhooks are on every plan. Its pricing page includes email, Slack and WhatsApp notifications in the list of features in all plans but names them only on the Plus and Professional cards, so confirm in the trial before relying on alerts on Starter.
Where Yay! Forms fits among feedback survey tools
Yay! Forms sits between the free form builders and the dedicated platforms. Its Starter plan includes unlimited forms, users and workspaces, logic jumps, a native NPS question, and automatic sentiment, emotion and keyword analysis of written answers. That last point matters if you expect more comments than you can read one by one.
It is not the right choice in three cases. If your budget is zero, Tally or Fillout does the job for free. If surveys must be sent automatically after a support ticket closes, a helpdesk-connected tool such as Simplesat is built for that. And if you expect well over 200 responses a month, compare the Plus plan at $39 a month billed monthly for 2,000 submissions against Fillout Starter. The Yay! Forms review covers the product in more depth.
Which customer satisfaction survey tool to choose by buyer type
- Solo business or volunteer group, under 100 responses a month: Tally or the Fillout free plan.
- Small team that wants help reading comments: Yay! Forms Starter, moving to Plus when you need your own branding or a higher response limit.
- Already taking payments or bookings through forms: Jotform, so surveys live in the same account.
- Support team working in a helpdesk: Simplesat.
- Product or marketing team surveying across website, app and email: Survicate.
A tool only pays for itself if the answers lead to action. Work out what each response will cost you on the plan you are considering, then run a small trial using the pilot check before committing to annual billing.
