Microsoft Forms alternative: what Microsoft Forms costs now

The Microsoft Forms alternatives to price are Tally, Google Forms, Yay! Forms, Typeform, Jotform and Zoho Forms, and Microsoft Forms itself has no price: it is an app inside Microsoft 365, where Business Basic is $7.00 per user a month, paid yearly. The dollar figures below were read on October 13, 2026.

Microsoft lists Forms among the Business Basic apps and sells no separate Forms plan. Its pricing page lists the next plans up, Business Standard with Copilot and Business Premium with Copilot, at $23.50 and $32.00 per user a month, paid yearly, each an annual subscription that auto-renews. Its trial is one month of Business Standard, which converts to a paid subscription and requires a credit card to sign up.

Alternatives with free plans: Tally, Jotform and Zoho Forms

Tally's free plan allows unlimited forms and submissions within its fair use policy, which lists 50,000 submissions a month as an example rather than a hard cap; Pro adds branding removal, a custom domain and team members. Jotform's free Starter plan allows 5 forms and 100 submissions a month. Zoho Forms' free plan allows 1 user, 3 forms and 500 submissions a month.

Google's Forms page names no price and offers a way to try Forms for work, its Workspace pricing page lists the plans, and Yay! Forms' comparison page is the source for calling Google Forms free. The Google Forms alternative guide covers that side.

Paid alternatives for comment analysis: Yay! Forms and Typeform

Microsoft's support page for Copilot in Forms says it summarizes results into an insights summary, and that using it takes a Microsoft 365 account and a Copilot license. The page names no price for the license.

Every Yay! Forms plan lists AI-powered insights. Its help center says Insights summarize one field's answers for a period you pick, and need at least 5 non-null responses in that field. Starter costs $19 a month on monthly billing or $9 a month, billed yearly, with 200 form submissions a month and unlimited users.

Microsoft Forms opens results in Excel from Responses Overview. Yay! Forms' help center documents sending each response to Google Sheets, to Zapier or Make with an API token, or to a webhook, and its all-plans list includes API access and webhooks. Typeform Basic is $39 a month on monthly billing or $28 on yearly billing (Typeform's US pricing) and allows 1 user.

When to stay with Microsoft Forms

Stay if your team already pays per user for Microsoft 365 Business Basic: Forms is among its apps. Microsoft documents up to 5,000,000 responses per form on work, school and business accounts, up to 200 questions per form and up to 4,000 characters in one answer, plus sections with branching logic and Ranking, Likert, rating and Net Promoter Score questions. Personal Microsoft accounts have lower limits: up to 200 responses on free accounts and 1,000 on paid ones.

Past 50,000 responses, Microsoft says some features stop working and a CSV export is the way to analyze. Its settings article lists start and end dates and an Accept responses switch, and lists no setting that closes a form after a set number of responses.

Who should switch from Microsoft Forms

At a company already on Business Basic, Forms costs nothing extra, and moving to Yay! Forms makes sense only if reading the comments is the slow part. Yay! Forms' AI info page also lists no SAML or single sign-on, which matters if your team signs in to every tool with its Microsoft account.

  • Yay! Forms for AI reading of comments with unlimited users; email, WhatsApp and Slack alerts are a Plus feature, per the vendor's Slack help article.
  • Tally for unlimited submissions at no cost, under fair use.

Microsoft's trial runs one month and requires a credit card; Yay! Forms gives 7 days. Its terms allow a refund request within 7 days of the first payment and ask 15 days' notice to cancel. Read the Yay! Forms review for its plans, and free survey tools for the free options.
